High School Youth Group – Summer Retreat
Spiritual Adventure trip. I have personally benefitted from a trip like this and other groups in our area have recommended this
type of experience for our students. We will be heading up to the Upper Peninsula for camping, hiking, swimming and even
some cliff jumping (optional). Two years ago I chaperoned a similar hiking trip with Steve Schnyders from Hudsonville Christian.
Armed with great experiences and locations to visit, I can’t wait to tie in spiritual truths from God’s Word to our group
experiences on the trail. Students will see first hand just some of the marvels of God’s creation. Students will also have the
opportunity for some solitude and time alone with God.
needed), and most meals (students will need their own money for 2 fast food stops – one on the way up and one on the way

you on the 25th when we depart.

Sturdy Shoes (hiking boots, good tennis shoes) for the hiking.
Clothes for day (hiking) and night (around camp and pajamas).
Toiletries, Waterbottle, Hat, Bug Spray, Sunscreen and Sunglasses.
Modest Swimsuit & Towel – There will be several opportunities for swimming.
Tent with Rain Fly (optional – Only some people will have to bring one, please indicate on the sign up sheet).
Snacks for yourself for the trail/at night. We have meals and treats covered, you may want a granola bar, trail mix, etc.
Cash for Fast Food Stops (2).
We pray that this trip will be a time of creation discovery and growth. We want our students to continue deepening their
commitments to Christ and to find new ways to reflect on what our great God has done – for this world and for each of us.
